Tomasek’s grandfather, Joseph Subrt played low brass instruments his whole life and lived to almost 103. Tomasek took up the tuba after Joe’s passing in an effort to ensure her own longevity and good health.  She plays tuba with the German Band Inc. and the Malden BrassSouls.  Aimee's musical journey on the tuba started twelve years ago.
