Flugelhorn

As a child, a colleague of my father (I called him "Uncle Ben") was the doctor for Jimmy and Marian McPartland. Jimmy played cornet with the "Austin High Gang" that originated the Chicago Dixieland sound.   He brought Bix Beiderbecke into that band as he moved on. Uncle Ben (who played the cornet himself) gave me several Bix Beiderbecke albums. I've always wanted the opportunity to play Dixie and never had the opportunity --- UNTIL NOW!

Currently, I play in the Hobart Area Community Concert Band (formerly "The Rusty Pipes"), the German band and the South Shore Brass Band.

Why do I love ❤️ Dixieland music: Because it resonates with our country's unique spirit and history.
